A 31-year-old African grey parrot named Alex, who became famous for learning to talk, died last week.

Alex's death was attributed to natural causes according to Dr. Irene Pepperberg, who worked with the bird for most of its life after the bird at a pet store. Dr. Pepperberg is a comparative pyschologist at Brandeis University and Harvard.
